I am the Law...

Insert Sylvester Stallone type scowl here...

Yesterday afternoon, I took Sweet Cheeks out on his bike for the full fifteen minutes it wasn't raining.

On our return, we discovered a Long Wheel Base Police Transit Van parked across the bottom of the drive. Obviously when you approach your house and find a Police Officer peering through the kitchen window, and another trying to see through the electric garage door, certain questions spring to mind. What The? Who died? How much bail do I need to get Very Understanding Hubby out of jail? How many officers are in that van, exactly? Why were so many dispatched to my house? Have I got enough tea bags? That kind of thing.

Of course, Sweet Cheeks thought all his Christmases had come at once with real, live, actual Police Officers at his house, 'are you catching burglars?' And, in no less than 'that's a Mercedes Van Mummy.'

Without so much as a 'Good Afternoon', Garage Door Police Officer asked if he could take a look in the garage. Not a problem, as I was about to open up so Sweet Cheeks could park up his bike. But I was a bit baffled, and a trifle excited, as to what he thought he might find in there. After all, if it was some kind of loot, well, finders keepers. Possession, and all that.

Garage door duly opened and Sweet Cheeks in there with Garage Door Police Officer, discussing 'this is my Daddy's bike', Kitchen Window Police Officer asked when I thought the garage had been burgled.

Oooooooh. We've been burgled? Well that saves a trip to the dump. But no. Wait! We've been burgled?! When did we get burgled? Kitchen Window Police Officer checked the book. Sunday morning. But this is weird. I'm in and out of the garage several times a day. And even with my Limited Fluffie Observation, I think I would have noticed something missing. And. Burglars aren't as tidy as me.

About five minutes later, after a bit of head scratching and checking of notes, turns out, Garage Door and Kitchen Window Police Officer were at the wrong house. At which point, Garage Door Police Officer asked why I let him look in the garage. Well. He wanted to look in there and I had to open it anyway. But, apparently, I should have asked him why he wanted to look in the garage.

To be honest, I thought if I said, well actually no, could you wait half an hour while I move the counterfeit notes and do my make up? It might incriminate me and/ or he might arrest me for perverting the course of justice. (Hmmmm. Maybe I watch too many American Lawyer soaps!!) And then who was gonna cook Sweet Cheek's dinner?

Yep, I know, it's hard living life on the knife edge!

I made this card with a specific person in mind. I must pop it in the post it later. That's as long as I don't try and recycle it first! I've used Butterfly Kisses which has just been released at Little Miss Muffet Stamps in rubber form. Ooh, and don't forget you still have a week left to enter the current Sparkle Challenge...

Beautiful card Faye, I've got this image somewhere but have never used it, might have to correct that after seeing your gorgeous card. Just as well your choklit wasn't stashed in the garage, you might have never got rid of the bobbies :) Donna ♥ x

Never a dull moment around your home I see! What a goofy officer, why did you "let him" look in your garage! You don't keep chocolate where he could find it and confiscate it so no worries right? Lovely card, I like the simplicity and the little butterfly charm.

Well I am so glad your garage wasn't burglared! What a crazy story with them being at the wrong house. I would have opened the garage for the officers too - would have made me too nervous to say "no!" Love this card btw, awesome coloring as always. Hugs:)

Oi, I'm busting a gut laughing at your description of the events - so hilarious to read about it although I'm sure you were perplexed whilst it happened! Oh, and I love this card too... almost got too distracted with your story. :D Such a fun way to have her sitting on the border and the butterfly charm is a great embellishment! *Hugs
