UNIKO Pure Florals: Peony

Morning All :)

These days, it's not often I get to colour something for fun. (I haven't been out at a show for a while, which is the other opportunity I get to colour for fun.) So I was delighted when Bev asked me to Guest Design at UNIKO for her.

I first came across Bev's gor-geous stamps at a show last year and I have to tell you it was love at first sight. If you get to any of the shows UNIKO exhibit at, you must stop by. The girls are so friendly and the stall is a real feast of inspiration and yummy goodies. You might even spot me in a corner drooling!

Anyhoo. Today I'm playing with the Pure Florals: Peony Clear Stamp Set. Oh my. It's lovely.

I got to thinking about how I spend time colouring an image, sometimes, but not always, I create a background too. I wanted to see how it looked if I created a background and left the image 'naked'. My plan was that the coloured background would make the image 'pop'.

On both of these cards, I've coloured the backgrounds with Copics. For the pink card, I added texture by applying Colourless Blender Various Ink with a natural sponge.

For the green card, I used the same process but I applied the Colourless Blender Various Ink with an old face cloth. After that, I splatted some ink across the backgrounds by flicking the Copic nib on the edge of the lid. You might want to think about putting something on your desk before you do that part!

Gorgeous Faye. Love those backgrounds, the pink one looks like a watercolour wash. So happy you are our GD this month. :)
