Togtastic!

Morning Fluffers!

For the last time this year... fancy a Cupcake?! ;) This week we have a Sketch for you to play with, for a chance to win stash from Crafty Emma's Store, Digital Delights, Tickled Pink Stamps and Polka Doodles! Wooohoooo!

I hope you can spare a few moments to pop over to Cupcake for all the details (by the way, the Challenge closes early this week.) and to see the wonderful creations from The Cupcakes.

For the past week or so, I've been feeling a little chilly at night. Now, if you know I'm a fair weather girl and I'm more Maldives than Mongolia, you'll also know I take adequate precautions at nightime to ensure and maintain a regular temperature of twenty eight degrees.

With the recent drop in temperature, my pj, socks, under-blanket, duvet, doubled over cot size duvet and doubled over fleece combo has just not been cutting it. Further investigations revealed the shocking truth...

I only had 10.5 tog on! 10.5 tog! Sweet Lord, that's like, cool for the summer! No wonder I've been waking up with my teeth clenched!

Now, I would happily stuff two duvets into the same duvet cover and sleep under the luxury of 21 togs, but Very Understanding Hubby doesn't like the weight on him. It makes him feel claustrophobic. (Insert 'boo, hiss' here!)

So, Saturday morning saw Sweet Cheeks and I waiting for the doors to be opened at Argos. Christmas Shoppers didn't stand a chance with me on a Duvet Mission, and to be honest, I think they were a little scared.

Last night, saw me basking in the fluffy, warmth of a new duvet and it was luuuurverly. Who decides what the maximum tog is anyway? I mean, why stop at 15...?!

Recipe

Cardstock: Stampin Up!
Papers: MME Lime Twist, Fly a Kite; My Mum's Craft Shop
Image: Lili of the Valley
Colouring: Markers

How comes they always win? I have to suffer a Spring duvet all year long!! Have yourself a fabulous Christmas and a Happy New Year! keeleyxx

I'm with you all the way on the cold front honey, when I get cold it takes ages for me to warm up, especially hands and feet! Whilst out Christmas shopping I found some 2.5 tog thermal socks, OMG they're the best thing ever!! If you see them, buy them!!
Your card is as always absolutely perfect, I love the frame and your colouring is amazing! :o)

Love the card Faye but love your duvet story better. You do make me giggle. You sound just like my daughter who goes to bed with socks, fleecy PJs and a hooded sweatshirt!!!! Me.....menopausal so as little as possible :0)
Have a wonderful (warm) Christmas and a brilliant New Year.

Well, you sound all snuggly and warm now, and if your hubby is too toasty he can always stick a leg out of the duvet - although he does, of course, run the risk of it being eaten by a shark or grabbed by a zombie!! ;-)

Super card and your colouring is terrific.
Hope you have a lovely family Christmas and best wishes for 2012.

Love this Faye! Fab image, gorgeous papers and love the stars. I'm sweating just thinking about your duvet! I can just about cope with a summer weight one, and even then I get too hot and have to stick my foot out!

Hope you have a fabulous Christmas hun :o) Lisa x

Adorable card Faye! Love the image and the fabby paper with the burlap & twine! A perfect boys card! I had to go to wikipedia for the definition of a tog. According to them you take two lightweight duvets to make a winter one, so your hubby needs to go to wikipedia to get the correct understanding! LOL! Glad you found one, & both you and hubby are happy & warm!

Oooh Faye, what a great card - love the image; frame; stars - everything! Just fabby.

Great duvet story too, same here I'd be snug under a thick duvet except that hubby never (and I mean never) feels the cold - simple solution is a thick duvet that I approve of and hubby never gets to use as I nick it and he sleeps out from under it in the drafts!

Best Christmas wishes to you, Very Understanding Hubby and Sweet Cheeks. Hope you all get something wonderful from Father Christmas in you stockings.

It's been unseasonably warm here and I have to turn on the air conditioner almost every other day. I haven't even been able to wear a sweater yet - it didn't feel like the holidays! Hope you're keeping warm and had a nice Christmas

Such a cute boys card. Love the boy on the bike with his dog!! Your use of that awesome Lime Twist paper really makes the image stand out! Great card!!
