How do you make a tomato rose?

Morning Fluffers. Firstly I'd like to say Happy Birthday to The Doc. Have a great day Dad. (I know he reads this even though he doesn't always comment, unless I slander him about washing cycles that is!) I'll show you his card as soon as I know he has it.

I wanted to have a go at making a card with only a sentiment. I struggle with adding sentiments anyway, so this was defo a challenge for me. It ties in quite nicely with the new To Die For Challenge over at MMCS, as I wanted to use my Rolled Flower Die. For a chance to win a £10 Gift Voucher to spend in My Mum's Craft Shop, you'll need to play along. Don't forget to hop over and see the fab creations my MMCS Teamies have made...

So. Rolled Flower Die. How hard can it be? I'm a fully qualified Chef and I am from the tomato rose, slice of radish, half a pea, spears of asparagus garnish era. (As opposed to hard boiled eggs coated in blue mayonnaise era.) Chef, if you're reading this from your retirement farm in France, don't read any further, as it will give you the same kind of reaction as the arrival of an un-announced coach load of vegans on a Bank Holiday weekend!

I'm horrified to discover I can't remember how to roll a tomato rose. OMG. If I had a pound for every one of the little blighters I'd made, I wouldn't be writing this. I'd be dictating to my (buff, male) PA, from the beach. In The Maldives. But I'm not. I'm here, making sure Sweet Cheeks doesn't bury the stereo in the sand pit! ;)

Needless to say, this card stressed me out! Sentiments, rolled flowers. For the sake of your sanity, don't try this at home folks. I'm here to do these things so you don't have to! And I'm still not totally happy with this idea, which is why it's not been mounted on a card base yet. Ever feel like a card still needs something else, but your migraine just can't figure out what? I'm going to enter this card at Just Tracys, the challenge this month is Sentiments.

Anyway, how do you make a tomato rose? Answer. With a paint brush, a glue gun and a pair of pointy tweezers...

Have a great day!

Recipe
Cardstock: Papermania

Papers: Rainbow Polkadots, Funky Hand
Sentiment: Inspirational Kit, The Creative Cottage
Tools: Nesties, Rolled Flower, Die-Namics
Other: Dew drops, pearls and ribbon from stash

I've never made a tomato rose, but I can make fondant ones, and paper ones similar to yours too.

LOL re the tomato roses, they're a pain in the neck aren't they? Hence I've only made a few even though I really like them when they're done. Mine is the Sizzix die which has scalloped bits, I like yours better. I see there's a tip above about a quilling tool, might have to get one of those :D.

Your card is so elegant Faye, I love the colour scheme and the splash of red and I know what you mean about sentiments, I'm the same. Thanks for giving me a good laugh tonight as always. Chris xxx
