The Norf Sea

Yesterday, I took Sweet Cheeks to the beach. Yes, I know it's winter and flippin' cold, but he enjoys the freedom of running wherever he wants and I enjoy not having to shout at him for running wherever he wants. And we wrapped up warm. However, never work with children or animals!

Normally, Sweet Cheeks doesn't pay much attention to the sea. He's a bit mystified as to why it moves and although I've explained tides, the moon and gravity, he tends to avoid it. Preferring instead to move sand from one side of the beach to the other and back again. (Bit like Very Understanding Hubby with stuff in the garage.)

When we were at the beach, the tide was out, and where there was a dip in the sand, it made a fairly good sized mini lake. This 'lake' received a lot of attention. Especially as the water didn't move and so, we spent most of our time playing in that. Until that is, Sweet Cheeks sat in it. Fully clothed. It came up to his waist. Was he bothered by cold, wet clothes? No! Was he bothered when I said we had to go and get changed? Erm, Yes!

During the week, I realised I had a serious card deficiency; birthday, thank you, Christening, you name it, I needed to make it! So I've been in the Snug, ignoring Very Understanding Hubby, most evenings. Thank goodness for sketches, that's all I can say! This one is from Sketch Saturday, so I'll enter it there.

Ok, must run, it's quiet, too quiet...

Ahhh bless him! I bet your heart sank at thought of the impending battle! We has a similar incident a couple of months ago when CC insisted on going up to the edge of the sea. Along came a slightly larger wave, CC got dizzy as it lapped his feet and plop! His nappy drank most of the Bristol Channel!
Love the card! Very pwetty. The lace and the charm are gorj.
Hace a nice Sunday!

Oh how nice, your story brought back such nice memories of going to the beach with my children and my friend's children. We only live 10 minutes from two beaches, so it was always a lovely (cheap) wasy of having a brilliant day out.
Your card is super, I love the vintage feel and those papers are lovely.
I love LOTV stamps, one of my favorites. Have a nice Sunday. Debbiexx

Gorgeous bunny card, Fluff.
The beach play sounds ... well ... not for me - I'm a hot-weather pool bum by nature. Beach, Norfolk, England in winter doesn't really appeal but I'm pleased Sweet Cheeks enjoyed it. I did spend some sunning time on Norfolk Beach, Virginia USA in my teenage summers though! Hugs, Lesley

Worrying, isn't it, when it's so quiet... when he was little Gregor had a quiet moment with the contents of the coal scuttle and the living room carpet. What a pleasure! Gorgeous card btw Faye! Enjoy the rest of the weekend xxx

What gorgeous papers Fluff and the lace is so elegant with the lovely pins. I love the extra bits you have in the bunnies' ears and tummy. I had to laugh that your baby sat in the cold water because that's just what he shouldn't do and we should not always follow rules especially when we know Mommy is about not wanting us to get wet and dirty. He's a delightful child - oh the stories are just wonderful!

Uh, oh, quiet can be bad, very bad!!! lol Fun day at the beach by the sounds of things! I cannot even think of water just now seeing as how we are in such a deep freeze! Well, the only place you will find water around here is indoors as it is all frozen solid at these temps!
I love your card! Lovely soft colors and such a cutie image! I too am working on building up the stash this last bit. I would really like to get ahead of the game if at all possible before gardening season comes around - I do leave me some dirt and plants, so now is the time since the ground will stay frozen until sometime in err, May or so!
Happy Sunday girl,
Banana :)
p.s. Can't wait to hear what Sweet Cheeks was up to....
