Hey Peeps :)
I got a letter yesterday. There is normally a little flurry of excitement when the Post Man comes to our house. Especially if Very Understanding Hubby is also home. As you know, I like to organise any contra brand packages to arrive when Very Understanding Hubby is out. Unfortunately the rest of the world doesn't always run to the same efficient timescale as me, and sometimes, sometimes, I have to rush across the house and throw myself at the letterbox, a la goalkeeper style.
Anyway, yesterday was not one of those days, so, I didn't pay much attention. That said, after two minutes or so, curiosity got the better of me and I went downstairs to have a look. There sat a brown envelope on the side. Not a pretty kraft style envelope, but one with a plastic window. Eurgh. I nearly walked away, having set things up so that all those kind of envelopes generally have Very Understanding Hubby's name on. No flies on me.
But again, something in me wanted to have a look. Plus I needed to check and see if anything was going on out the front ;) But oh. This yucky brown envelope did have my name on. My full name. And it was from the DVLA. Let me tell you, my stomach dropped much further than my stomach at that moment, as I visually ran through every speed camera I haveshot crawled past, in like, forever. Nope, no flashing came to mind. I also couldn't think of any other involvement with Traffic Control Type Peeps, so the letter was a mystery.
I opened it with some trepidation...
I have to get a new photocard. And. AND. I have to pay to get a new photocard. Darn it. I don't want a new photocard, the one I have is fine. I know where it is. It looks like me. It has my address on it. Pah! On the plus side, apparently I don't need to have my photo verified by six different High Ranking Professionals that have know me for 117 years and can vouch for what I was doing on 14 November 2001. What was I doing on 14 November 2001? Hmmm. Leap Frog. Traffic Cones. I'll expect a letter...

So funny Faye..I get a lot of my parcel mail sent to my Dads as I have sticking fingered neighbours..and even then I feel guilty when Dad phones to say something else has arrived.
Fantastic colouring on this gorgeous image..what a beautiful card.

I think Dr Hubby is resigned to the arrival of parcels of new craft stash that I just *had* to have!
This did make me giggle though and I'm glad it was nothing more terrifying than having to get a new photocard. Although the prospect of trying to get a photo of me that isn't utterly appalling is a fairly terrifying prospect!
Ok, the card though... super cute and such pretty soft colours - lovely!
Big hugs, Kat xx
LOL....Gorgeous hun..you so make me smile...:o)
biggest of hugs Vicky xx
This is gorgeous Faye. She looks fabulous.
I've just had my photocard renewed. I took it all to the main postoffice in town and they did it for me including the photo, electronic signature etc for a cost of £4. I got a new one in the post 3 days later.

lol, I am with you - those ones with the little see thru windows are not generally good news after all! I do prefer the kind that were hand-addressed with a real stamp!
Your card is gorgeous, so gorgeous!
Ha Faye, I can hear the heart a pumping from Aussie land lol...hate those envelopes but most of ours are ruddy bills too....great card to cheer us all up...

The Journey is the Start

Morning hon..
Well your tale has made me smile this morning! I do exactly the same when it comes to packages arriving.. generally timing them so well! LOL! I think all us crafters are of the same nature... But oooh from the DVLA! And pray tell, WHAT is a photocard?? I don't think I have one!! Am gonna have to go check now! Don't think my driving licence has a photo on it!.. at least not that I've noticed!
Now... your card is fabulous as always.... I can only aspire to the hair colouring you do... I WISH I could get somewhere near that standard!
