Birds, Butterflies, or a Cactus?

Morning Fluffaroonies. If you're looking for a Cupcake, or a lesson on thumbs and Physics, well, you need to head downstairs... :)

But, if you're after some La-La Land Craft Inspiration Monday related goodness, well, you're in the right place! This week, we'd like to see you pop your Birds or Butterfly themed creations in The Customer Gallery.

I've been saving this EP Butterfly paper for over a year, for this EXACT card. See, being a Stashoholic has it's advantages. I made the Flutterby myself, using the La-La Land Craft Filigree Corner Die, although I can't take any credit, I saw it somewhere, I forget where. Now, while we're on nature and forgetting stuff, let's talk about plants...

Once upon a time, I had a good relationship with house plants. But these days, not so much so. By the time I've finished running around after Two Boys and a Cat, (now doesn't that sound like a RomCom?) I kind of forget to water them. Ever.

Last week, Very Understanding Hubby waved the African Violet from the bathroom at me. I think, it was an African Violet, once. Before all the Violets fell off and just left the African! Anyway, Very Understanding Hubby waved the African Violet at me and asked when was the last time I had watered it. This question quickly became redundant, as, the African Violet slipped out of his hand, and the china dish bounced on the tiled floor and the African Violet Shattered into thousands of pieces!

But, here's the thing. I like having a plant in the bathroom. A semi-live one, not a plastic one. So, I found myself wondering what kind of plant could I put in there... A plant that won't really mind if I forget to water it for, like, six months at a time. Ping! Yep, you heard the light bulb too, right? A Cactus! You know, one of those big, spiky, Cactussy looking things... Perfecto for the room that homes naked boys! PMSL.

I used to have a cactus, they really don't support a lot of water, 'cause they will rot ! If by any chance you water it next month too, ... be prepared :)

    Good luck with your cactus

  23. Love how you made the frame! I have hundreds of these wooden sticks in my stash as I bought a HUGE pack of rub-ons. I've been hanging on to them to try and come up with an idea on how to use them - thanks for the idea!

  25. Hee hee... I used to have lots of plants, but there are now only two survivors - both spider plants and one is in the bathroom. I can go over a month without watering them and they look dreadful but spring right back when I finally get around to soaking them. I like your cactus idea :)

Gorgeous card - I love how you made the beautiful butterfly and your fabulous frame. Of course, your colouring is always stunning.

  31. I don't have any house plants for that very reason - they all die of thirst in my house or I drown them!
