Friendly Flowers

Morning Peeps :)

Saturday morning means a new Sketch from The Sweet Stop. Whoot! I know I say this every week, but, I love this one! How can you not? It's got bunting. I love bunting. Be sure to check out the other Sugar Babies, there's bunting all over the place (obviously!!):

As I appear to be in a bit of a smitten haze this morning, let's talk about My Mum's Craft Shop, because, we've been loving Paper Smooches all week. And what's not to love? Finding myself with a bit of free time, I thought, rather than colour up an image, (coz we know how long that can take.) I'd knock up a quick little number, building a flower scene and paper piecing them all. Ha! Yes, you can stop rolling around the floor laughing now too. All morning it took me. And I was a bit late for lunch too. Why? Because after I did my initial test scene on a scrap of paper, it took three more attempts to replicate it on a piece of card. And I had the most dithery version of The Fluffhead on, which involved me stamping and cutting flowers in quite a few different combinations. So, it goes without saying that this card is currently on my desk so that I can grit my teeth every time I walk past admire it every day! ;)

Gorgeous card and I agree paper piecing is never quicker it it is very effective. Have you tried paper toling like paper piecing but you colour the pieces and layer them, very time consuming but also therapeutic. Hugs, Amanda x

Hi Faye,

Another fabulous card - and well done you for doing paper piecing, I'm cr@p at it! Do it every so often when I feel like punishing myself!!!

Gorgeous cards in posts below as well, 'specially love the Odd WoW - absolutely fabulous!!

Hope you are having a good weekend.

Sarah

PS - I would join in with your Weds moan, but it's Sat and I fear I'm too late. It's school and teachers setting the touch paper going in my house this week!!

Aww, I love this card, it's gorgeous. Love the paper piecing and although it may have taken forever (giggle) I'd say it's well worth it!

I love the result Faye. I especially like the colors and the fun burlap piece. I would put it on my desk and admire it too. :) I did chuckle a little about your comment of comparing coloring vs paper piecing. It takes me way longer to paper piece than to color. But in the end I love the look of paper piecing more.

Sometimes the simplest of ideas takes the longest of time but I love your funky flowers with the fun decorated banners! I needed a piece of hessian like this for my recent cowboy card. It looks perfect with your fun paper pieced flowers, Fluff! Hugs, Lesley
