Curiosity didn't kill Sweet Cheeks...

... Mummy did!

Sweet Cheeks has a new found fascination with the oven. (He insisted on putting his shoes in there this morning.)

At our house in Devon, the oven was higher than he could reach. At Stinky Hollow in Norwich, we had a gas oven. With a gas oven, as you know, you have to push the knobs in first before twisting, which is a bit much for a Sweet Cheeks. And even if he had managed it, the worst that would've happened was blowing Stinky Hollow sky high. Not a bad thing! But here, the oven sits on the floor, and is electric, so Sweet Cheeks just has to twizzle the knobs, job done.

Yesterday, a little pink package with my name on it came through the Items To Declare aisle at Baggage Control. It contained a few (Ahem!) Copics and after I ripped the package open in excitement, I left my Beloved on the side in the kitchen, in their pretty little bag.

A while later, I was cleaning the bathroom, or some other such glamorous job upstairs, while Sweet Cheeks played downstairs. There was a significant bang and then the sound of scampering footsteps, so I went to investigate.

On closer inspection, the bang had been the oven door, which was on, high, with the light on. And Sweet Lord, my Copics inside...

I made this card for my Great Aunt, who collects clocks and recently, very kindly let me have one that belonged to my Grandad. I wanted to make it look a bit like a clock on a wall. The sentiment swings by a chain, like a pendulum.

Recipe
Cardstock: Stampin Up!
Papers:Fly a Kite; Garden, October Afternoon
Images and Sentiment: Sense of Time & Circle of Friendship, Stampin Up!
Tools: Nesties & Fiskars Border Punch
Other: Buttons & Pearls from stash

Did you get to the Copics in time or did they melt? Maybe this is the Chef gene coming out in SC? Perhaps he's going to be the new Heston B - roast shoe with a Copic jus. Yum! xx

Love this card! The colors and the clock is fantastic! She will love it! Hope the copics are unharmed. I had a package go past baggage control yesterday! LOL! He just handed it to me and never asked! Whew! I had won a few things a couple of weeks ago he may have thought it was another win! I would have been very upset if it made it past baggage control and then ended up in the oven! LOL

Love your clock card for your great aunt, Faye. Loved your story about Sweet Cheeks but I absolutely feel for you about your Copics! If you paid for them with your credit card they might be insured. And any comments you make on an insurance form are bound to turn up in an e-mail sometime in the next year about amazing insurance claims! Hugs, Lesley

I love your card and do hope you were in time to save the copics !
I know they have to be handled with care, I took them with me on my holiday but one red one didn't like the plane too much so it sprinkled little red dots all over the place when I wanted to colour with it in the plane :)
