Wow! Pretty!

Wow! Pretty! That's what Sweet Cheeks said as he crouched next to me while I was taking the picture of this card. Don't you just love kids? Seconds later he swiped it and we had several minutes of frantic chasing as I tried to:
a) keep it out of the hand that had a half eaten jaffa cake in it and
b) get it back!

I've been wanting to have a go at colouring an image in black and white for a while. I think this is about the fourth attempt, all the others having been ditched with contempt. If I do it again, I think I'll try cool greys, rather than warm. That said, this makes me think of a sepia photo. I should've mounted the spotty paper onto black card, but it's always easy to say these things just after you've stuck 'em down!

Absolutely STUNNING Faye! Funnily enough I've just had a go at colouring in black & white myself (not on my blog yet, it's for a DT), but my attempt is nowhere near as good as yours! Love the added pale pink too :o) Lisa x

How classy is this? Love it! Pink and black looks great together, the image is coloured in brilliantly and the ribbon and spotty paper set it off a treat. Hugs, Claire x

Absolutely LOVE the 'vintage' look of this Faye!
I actually like it on the pink card, I think it would have been too dark on black.
I'm so impressed by this sepia coloured image I may have to 'steal' the idea lolol!
lol Chrissie xx

This is so pretty Faye! I think you did an excellent job. Black and white is hard to do, but you have the shading perfect! I like to warm tones too! Gives it a little color since your paper is black. I have not been brave to try it yet, but you inspired me! Love the splash of pink too!

Ohhh Fluff, this is gorgeous. This is the first image I came across when I started blogging and fell in love with it. The Swiss dots and the dotted perfect are well prepared with this black and white image - very well toned. The pink bow is a perfect accent. Where did you get the image - I've never been able to find the source. LOL! Look at sweet cheeks on your desk - very cute and love the doll your mom made for him!

It's gorgeous Faye and I agree your colouring does look like a vintage photo, you've created such a beautiful effect. Love the spotty paper and LOL re the black card, been there :D. I hope it remained un-jaffery after you got it back but if my memory serves me well enough, it's usually not the case :D!! Have a great weekend. Chris x

Pretty is right on! Such fantastic coloring, I have never tried B&W, I think I would find it too frustrating. You have pulled it off beautifully!

Sweet Cheeks is so sweet. My son always puts his little thumb up beside each card as I'm taking a picture of it. I should post a picture of that some day on my blog...it's just so sweet!!!
