Have you seen the new Halloween images at Make it Crafty? As soon as I saw Scootin Witch, I wanted to colour her. I'm not sure if it's the expression on her face, or the super cool broomstick, the goggles, or just seeing an opportunity to play around with some pleats and folds, I just knew I had to 'do' her! I printed her out quite small, and now she lives in my ATC Journal.
I wanted to give her skin a bit of an unhealthy pallor, no peachy, fresh tones here. I'm pretty pleased with how that turned out. I Air Brushed the mesh behind the image... I have the black fingernails to prove it!! And I messed around with a smooshy background. That's all Copic by the way. It might be small, but I had a lot of fun with it!

Yes she is rather an interesting image. Love the handle bars on that broomstick and your background is very eerie and spooky, a fabulous technique.

ReplyDeleteWow! Amazing image! My daughters came into the room where I am on my computer as I was looking at this and I called them over to take a peek. Both were as impressed as I was. They said the image was both cute and creepy at the same time. :) Again, I'm so impressed with your skills, especially on a smaller canvas. The background looks incredible to me!

Wow Faye you have done it again!! I love that broomstick, they have such great images over there. Usually I won't color an image more than once but theirs I could do again and again. I love that background and really want to know how you did it, it doesn't look like stippling, distress inks? xoxo Lizzy
