The Great Escape

Alrighty then :)

Poor Very Understanding Hubby is a bit grumpy. You may recall, he's not been sleeping so well, (despite having the ability to slip into a coma within seconds of Head Pillow Contact.) because I keep waking him up. Last night, would be the third time in two weeks. Ouch!

Boo, the cat, has taken to bringing gifts in during the night. He always wakes me up, as he's generally very pleased with himself for providing me with a little snack, and I don't like to tell him off, for only doing what nature dictates to him.

Last night, his Mummy, I Got You A Present Greeting was a little muffled, and on closer inspection, I discovered the mouse was still alive. So, with this falling into a Blue Job Category, I set to waking Very Understanding Hubby, with the usual difficulties. Naturally, Very Understanding Hubby, was Not So Understanding and I got the Standardised Response; What do you want me to do about it, it'll be dead in the morning? I know that, says me, but I don't want a mess on the carpet!

After a little prod from me, a slightly exasperated Not So Happy Very Understanding Hubby grabbed Boo. Boo, slightly shocked from being grabbed (So that Not So Happy Very Understanding Hubby could take them outside.) dropped the mouse. The mouse, shot under the sideboard, which, according to Boo, (who has been sitting on guard ever since) is where the mouse still resides. Not So Happy Very Understanding Hubby checked inside the sideboard this morning, (Blue Job Category, mainly because Not So Happy Very Understanding Hubby didn't want me poking around the crystal glasses with a big stick.) and there is no sign of said mouse. In fact, there's no sign of the mouse anywhere...

I'm feeling pretty pleased with myself. Why? I finally, finally, got around to making a start on my Colouring Journal, and this is page one. I printed my image nice and big as I really wanted to get to grips with my colouring, without worrying about how much space I had. And I enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to doing more pages.

  5. Wow - this is beautiful. Love the fresh blue and white colour combo. Are you not tempted to sing "There's a moose, loose, aboot this hoose"? It's a regular feature of life chez Trayner and we don't have a cat!!! xxx

  8. Beautiful image and perfect colouring - as always!

You is a braver man than me Gunga-din re the mouse. I've been known to put a dustbin, three boxes and a stool over a mouse that was subsequently found to be expired.

I do not touch rats, mice, voles, moles, or any other small creature with whiskers, fur and a tail. That is squarely 'im indoor's job - and even SWMbO is better than me with this type of creature.

Hope you have a good weekend,

    Sarah

  10. Years ago we lived near a Dairy and Mice were like extra family members, sometimes we would set traps and hear about 6 snaps in the night, in the morning we would have a whole family in 'em! Oh dear!

Also when my kids were 11 and 12 we bought them baby Rats (After our local vet recommended them as the perfect pet).....And OMG they were.
They were amazing. Only lived for 3 and a half years but the kids could play proper games with them, like roll the Maulteeser and bring it back....
They also spent more time out the cage than in it and slept on a bookcase when they were allowed out. We had two very large cages joined together. Very clean too.

Sorry I went on a bit but they wee so lovely.

Beautiful Journal and as always your colouring is stunning.

  18. I'm sure the little mouse has found a way to escape and is well away by now... if not, just repeat that until you believe it!

Meanwhile, your colouring is absolutely superb as always and the colouring journal is a great idea :-)

  19. Blue is my favorite color for girly designs, and the papers you've used are beautiful! Fabulous coloring! I'm always studying your images, trying to pick up some ideas as I'm no coloring expert myself.

Really - it's fabulous but there was also one of your funny tales (this one attached to a mouse!) Thanx Fluff! Hugs, Lesley
