I'm a bit dotty right now!

Morning Custard Lovers!

The new challenge over at MMCS this week, sponsored by Meljen's Designs, is Favourite Colours. By now you'll know that although everyone thinks mine is pink, I have two; lilac and yellow.

Would you believe I have never made a lilac and yellow card? I suppose thinking about it logically, I'd only make a lilac and yellow card for someone, if I knew they liked these colours. (And although Very Understanding Hubby often asks me to make him a card for me, it's never happened.)

Of course, the other reason I've never made a lilac and yellow card is because I have no suitable stash to do so. (Very Understanding Hubby will find this hard to believe, as only yesterday, we were discussing my stash's strange ability to grow, with absolutely no help from me whatsoever...)

Back to the drawing board (AKA, the one inch square of clear desk that is not covered in stuff.) for me. I don't play with Lilac and purple shades very much and I also veer away from monochromatic. But strangely, if I do venture into the world of MC, it's often with lilacs!

So, seeing as I was being brave with lilac and monochromatic, I decided to pair it with my current favourite, polka dots. (It's so my favourite at the moment, my string has dust on it!) Et Voila!

I'm going to enter:

  3. Sorry! There's a HUGE error with this posting...can't believe no one else noticed it...Post Title reads...'dotty right now'. It should read...'In a Permanent State of Dottiness'! I'm sure this breaks some trade description law or health n' safety! That aside, you have excelled yourself in the colouring dept. so on this occasion I shall not report you to the Blog Police xxx

  9. WOW...what a great card. The colroring is perfect. The dot paper matches so well. I, for some reason, don't have lilac (purplish) paper either for some reason. It is such a pretty color, but I have noticed there is not much out there to choose from, in those colors in a pad of paper that I like.If you find some, I hope you post it, ;o)

  13. Now I have made a card with lilac and yellow in the past and it does look OK LOL. I love purples and lilacs, so have plenty of papers in that shade, however I don't have these polkadots and am very jealous LOL. This is a fabulous card hun, as always. Hugs, Claire x

  21. Hi Faye. This is gorgeous. Love the image, colours and the dots.....all brilliant!!

Here is the link to the Tesco sewing machine I got...though I got mine in store.

    http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.211-2499.aspx

It's basic & simple (perfect for me!)....and OMG!!! It's gone down to half price....could kick myself now! The first one I had to take back as it jammed. With a little patience I probably could have sorted this myself but I took it back to the store anyway. The second one I am using with no probs...but I would recommend getting proper cotton not the cheap polyester stuff for best results. I'll make sure I keep my receipt safe in case I get any more probs in the next 12 months. Worth the money I'd say! Any more help just shout.

  32. This is a great card! I love all the purple. Your coloring is fab and I really like your design. Speaking of purple, my daughter got married this past summer and her theme was purple. Her girls wore purple and had purple and blonde hair. The boys had purple shoes and most of the flowers were purple orchids. Sounds like alot, but it was perfect and she loved it! Thanks for sharing with us this week at Stamps R Us. I hope you'll join us again soon!
