Try Something Different

Hello Fluffers!

Can you believe it's time for a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin? No? Me neither! This week, we would like you to Try Something New. A new technique, a different colour combo, something you haven't tried before, whatever takes your fancy. I always think this challenge is a brilliant idea, right until I'm actually trying something new and it's stressing me out!

Very Understanding Hubby bought me a fabby, shiny tin of Prismas for Christmas and after I'd spent a few days lovingly stroking them, I thought it might be time to (think about expanding my collection! Ahem!) take them out for a spin. This card is the resulting test drive and I am now in love with Prismas. Oh. And my watercolour brush. And my Copics. And, erm, my Aqua Markers. OMG. I'm a magpie!!

After I'd coloured my image in, I decided to have a go at a colour combo I wouldn't normally play with. And I added some doodling around the edge of the image. I love doodling, but I'm always scared I'll ruin a card by adding it as a finishing touch. Normally I only venture to a little bit around the edge of star die cuts.

Anyway, pop over to Sweet Stampin and take a look at what the girls have created. We are sponsored this week by Di's Digi Downloads and our monthly sponsor is Whimsy Stamps.

I would like to enter this card in at:

CES Challenges - All Creatures Great and Small
Stamp Something - Digi
Fab 'n' Funky - Anything Goes

I've not had choklit for five days. Well, apart from the bit I sucked out of the hanky I used to wipe Sweet Cheeks chin after he scoffed twenty nine Quality Street in front of me! I'm pretty sure there are no calories in choklit someone else has already eaten! ;) Have a lovely weekend...

Faye I truly love your card, fabulous DP, doodling & so impressed with your colouring. Prisma's? Not another colouring medium I MUST have....

29 Quality Street, you must have been scraping Sweet Cheeks off the ceiling, never mind sucking the leftovers from the hanky!!

xx

P.S. If you check out the 3 central layers of my second picture, you should see my glaring mistake, a chocolate hanky in the post if you spot it........

The doodling on this card is so impressive! However, the same obviously cannot be said for your hanky sucking habit! I've been very good today, btw - I've put the remains of a box of chocolate truffles in the bin because I kept eating them. Problem is, I keep looking at the bin now and wondering ... Have a fab weekend! Tracey xx

Fluffy! Happy New Year my friend! I adore this cutie image and the way you have colored him. The doodling is perfect! I agree though, once I have painstakingly colored an image, I am so afraid to ruin it!
So sorry to hear about the chocolate epidemic - maybe if you keep your hands busy coloring with those new prismas you won't think about it since it is too hard to color and each chocolate at the same time without making a mess! - well unless understanding hubby is good enough to feed it to you, but perhaps that would not be helpful....
Cheers,
Bananagirl

Lovely card !
You have to explain me something ...
Why do you not want your very understanding hubbie to be able to enter the house ?
:)
I can say for you that in fact there are no calories in chocolate that was eaten by your kids :)
Same goes for leftovers from candy, softdrinks etc :)
Love
Margo

LOVE the orange and black together. I need to think outside the box more. Not sure I'm ready to venture away from my Copics and try Prismas, but you have done and AMAZING coloring job here my friend. LOVE the depth of shadows. (really, I can't stop looking at it.) Your doodling is perfect and I so is the black distressing ink along the edges.
